Getting married during a pandemic is not what anyone could ever plan or expect. Due to the coronavirus, Kara and Chris had to make some extremely hard decisions. When they realized that their dream wedding was now banned, they never gave up hope that they would still be able to get married on their original date. Since planning anything is near impossible in this uncharted territory, they didn’t know if it would actually happen until it actually did. “Social distancing” weddings of ten people or less were allowed, so that’s exactly what they did! They got married in the church Kara grew up in on their originally planned wedding date.
I know that this was not the wedding they had dreamed of, but it was truly so special. Not only did their closest family get to be there (sitting six feet apart, of course), but other loved ones had surprised them with an amazing post-wedding parade in front of the church! Music was playing in the parking lot as car after car drove by with their signs, bubbles, streamers, and smiles, wishing the newlyweds a beautiful start to their marriage. I seriously cannot guess how many cars were there. It was such a beautiful display of love and support, and the joy on Kara and Chris’ faces was priceless.
Kara and Chris, I know this wasn’t what you had planned, but I am so happy that y’all got to make it official on your original date! I cannot wait to celebrate with y’all whenever that day may come. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Battista!
